Roof Water Test and Leak Tracing, explained.
When a leak is intermittent, the best way to find it is to make it happen on purpose. A controlled water test applies water to one small area of the roof at a time while someone watches inside the attic or at the ceiling. When the leak appears, we know exactly which area, and then which detail, is responsible.
We start at the lowest suspect area and work upward, because water can only travel down. We test one section for several minutes before moving on, so we can tell cause from coincidence. Testing is done carefully to avoid creating new damage. The result is proof, not a theory.

Done carefully, yes. We control the water and have someone watching inside so we can stop immediately.
